My journey from CAN'T to CAN – one workout at a time.

My Progress

When I started this journey, fibromyalgia was in complete control – of EVERYTHING.  After addressing NUTRITION and sticking to a FITNESS plan, I have successfully changed that. I am in control.  Fibromyalgia is now a thing of the past.  If I can do it, anyone can.

Don’t get me wrong, this journey has certainly had its ups and downs.  But, the downs really show you what you’re made of.  And I’m a FIGHTER.  So I kept on pushing through until I achieved my goals.  Once I achieved my goals, I set new ones and kept on going.  There is no end.  And there is no stopping me. I have changed my life and I’m on a mission to help you change yours.

The Beginning

beachbody ultimate resetWhen I started in March 2013, I was overweight, in constant pain, and felt AWFUL about myself.  First came nutrition.  I knew this was the only way to truly CHANGE my life and overcome my symptoms.  I first completed a 21-day total body cleanse called the Ultimate Reset with ASTONISHING results.  Midway through, I achieved a

mind-blowing goal: I went on my first ever hike.  To the top of a mountain.  AMAZING.


I also started using this incredible meal replacement shake, Shakeology.  I know this has been KEY to my transformation.  I love this stuff.  I’ve used it every single day since I started my journey and can’t imagine going without it.  DENSE NUTRITION!

Then came fitness.

Before I started my first program, I honestly didn’t know if it was possible.  What I did know is this: I wouldn’t find out unless I tried.

This was before I started my first fitness program, Turbo Jam.  After the program, I was already feeling so much better.  The photos don’t show a tremendous amount of progress, but I wasn’t doing this for weight loss, I was doing this to change my life.

Goal 1 was reached: I completed Turbo Jam.  Most importantly, I could MOVE.  Pain was decreasing, I could hike, and I felt better about myself.  Time to tackle a new goal.

Once I finished Turbo Jam, I decided to take things up a notch. I started Turbo Fire on June 2, 2013.  Turbo Fire is an INTENSE cardio conditioning program and I honestly didn’t know if I could do it.  But here goes nothing.

To say this was a TOUGH program would be an understatement.  Add to that the fact that, just a couple of days before I started, we arrived in our new home at 9000 feet.  The air was thin AND I started an intense cardio program.  Well, I pushed through with the goal of getting more hiking in (hopefully tougher hikes) and feeling better.

As I improved, I became frustrated with the fact that many people with fibromyalgia refuse to try, refuse to see the progress I’ve made, and only wanted to come to my Facebook page to complain.  It’s not that I don’t understand, believe me I do.  It’s just that I’m PROVING that life doesn’t have to be like that, yet so many people just don’t want to TRY.  This led to me creating a video, which I’d hoped would connect with people facing the same tough road I’d faced.

The Hiking

During the program, I was amazed at what I was able to accomplish.  I didn’t just hike, I SUMMITED 2 13,000+ ft mountains.  First came Mt. Flora, then we made it through an incredibly TOUGH hike up Mt. Audubon.

Finishing TurboFire

As I approached the end of this program, I became emotional.  First, because I would soon be done with this program that had changed my life.  My SOULMATE workout.  Second, because I still could not believe I had done it.

On October 20, 2013, I reached another milestone.  I completed TurboFire.  It was INTENSE, it TESTED me, and it proved how STRONG I really am.  My fibromyalgia symptoms are virtually gone.  I look better than I have in decades and FEEL great about myself.  My after photos really show the incredible physical transformation.  What they cannot capture is the emotional and mental transformation, which has been equally profound.

ChaLEAN_logo_low_resWhat’s Next?

As you might expect, my journey will continue.  Immediately after completing TurboFire, I began an interval training program called ChaLEAN Extreme.  There is tons of strength training (weight lifting) + more cardio.  One week in, and I’m already loving it.  Updates will follow.
